Ramadan Series 2025

Juz 29 Series Introduction

Bismillah-ir-Rahman-ir-Rahim

The 29th Juz’ is a profound and powerful part of the Quran that emphasises and highlights the majesty of ‏الله سبحانه وتعالى , and calls upon you to reflect upon the certainty of the Day of Judgement and our meeting with our Lord. It reminds us of ‏الله سبحانه وتعالى , His power, and that He, glory be to Him, is the One who created from nothing, that He created death and life, that He is the most Compassionate, and He will call us to account for our deeds. It warns us about the guarantee of resurrection, divine judgment, consequences of disbelief, and gives glad tidings of the rewards for the righteous.

This Ramadan we hope to go on an enlightening journey of raising our Imaan by exploring the profound meanings and timeless wisdoms of the 29th Juz’. This series is designed to take us on an exercise of reflection deep into the themes of this Juz’, which develop our understanding of ‏الله سبحانه وتعالى and our belief in Him. The Sahabah of Rasulullah ‎ﷺ used to emphasize strengthening one’s Imaan first and foremost in the pursuit of beneficial knowledge. When improving one’s Imaan and Aqeedah are given importance, naturally one’s beliefs and convictions translate into action.

اَلَّـذِيْنَ اٰتَيْنَاهُـمُ الْكِتَابَ يَتْلُوْنَهٝ حَقَّ تِلَاوَتِهٖ ؕ اُولٰٓئِكَ يُؤْمِنُـوْنَ بِهٖ ۗ وَمَنْ يَّكْـفُرْ بِهٖ فَـاُولٰٓئِكَ هُـمُ الْخَاسِرُوْنَ (121:البقرۃ )

We intend to inshaAllah develop a relationship with the Surahs in this Juz’ that engages the 5 rights of the Quran:

  1. Recitation of the words of ‏الله سبحانه وتعالى
  2. Understanding and reflecting upon the meaning
  3. Memorisation and safeguarding the words in our hearts
  4. Implementation and action in our lives and lastly
  5. Spreading the message we have learnt to others.

We pray that ‏الله سبحانه وتعالى accepts out efforts, guides us with beneficial knowledge, and makes us amongst those whom He blesses with righteous action. Ameen.

This  course will focus on memorizing the Surah AzZumar with proper Tajweed by certified Teachers.
Along with memorizing the surah, students will be  understanding its in depth meaning and ways to improve and make memorizing easy.

The Reality of Valentine’s Day

Why can’t  Muslims celebrated Valentine’s day ?   Isn’t  it all about love! What’s the big deal?

Valentine’s day’s message is good.  In fact Islam teaches this very concept in Surah Ar-Rum:

“And among His signs is that He has created for you, of yourselves, spouses (azwaj), that you may feel tranquility and relief (taskunu) in her and (He) has set love and mercy between you. There are signs in this for a people who reflect” (30:21).

But the creation of valentine’s day is rooted in a Roman pagan tradition  and the Quran warns us about following traditions blindly

When they are told, “Follow what GOD has revealed herein,” they say, “We follow only what we found our parents doing.” What if their parents did not understand, and were not guided? The example of such disbelievers is that of parrots who repeat what they hear of sounds and calls, without understanding. Deaf, dumb, and blind; they cannot understand. [2:170-171]

A six month course designed on the Lives of the Sahabah.

وَٱلسَّـٰبِقُونَ ٱلۡأَوَّلُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُهَـٰجِرِينَ وَٱلۡأَنصَارِ وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوهُم بِـإِحۡسَـٰنٍ۬ رَّضِىَ ٱللَّهُ عَنۡہُمۡ وَرَضُواْ عَنۡهُ

As for the first and foremost of the Emigrants (Muhajirin) and the Supporters (Ansar) and those who followed them in goodness, Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Allah, … (9:100)

Introduction

  • Why is it so essential for us to know about the Lives of the Companions of Prophet ﷺ?
  • What makes the Sahabah so unique and important?
  • How did the ignorant Bedouins of Makkah become the guiding light for the Human race, the lighthouses of the sea and the twinkling stars of guidance in the sky?
  • Quran and Sunnah are the two strongholds for Faith and Guidance, what  better way to learn than to examine how the Companions of the Prophet derived knowledge from these sources.
  • The Sahabah were the ones chosen by Allah سبحانه وتعالىٰ to be the Companions of our beloved Prophet Muhammed ﷺ. They were the ones who benefitted the most and obtained knowledge directly from the Messenger of Allah. They are mentioned in the Quran and Allah has asked Muhammed ﷺ to seek their counsel and be content in their company. Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him.

Purpose

  • To learn the core values adopted by the Sahabah under the leadership of Prophet Muhammed ﷺ so that we can align our vision with the purpose and goals of our lives.
  • To respect and love the Sahabah and follow in their footsteps.

What will we learn from this course?

  1. The lives of the Sahabah pre- and post-Islam.
  2. What were the situations and challenges faced by the sahabah during that era; what lessons can we learn to deal with our current situations and challenges that we face in following Islam.
  3. How did the sahabah endure all their trials and tribulations yet still embraced Islam gracefully .
  4. How Islam altered them inside and out and sculpted their characteristics.
  5. How Prophet ﷺ empowered them and helped them acquire the best etiquettes and mannerisms
  6. The evolution of the Golden Era of Islam under the Prophet’s ﷺ leadership.
  7. How we can regain the glory of Islam by following the Quran, Sunnah and the Companions as examplars.
  8. The Sahabah were young and most of them were under the age of 50. Their life was free of contradiction and they practiced what they learnt. The youth of today can make them their role models and in sha Allah be rightly guided.

  • Detailed study of the Lives of the Sahabah with references from authentic Ahadith and Seerah.

Starting on March 23, with Surah Yusuf

It will be conducted 3 days a week till end of Ramadan.

Monday and Wednesday:
2:00 -3:00 pm
Tafseer of Select Surahs.

Thursday : 2:00 pm -3:00 pm
Lectures, Ramadan Preparation and Dua Memorization.

For Youth boys and girls age 12 yrs and up.
